Zune Tip Calculator

Got a Zune? Looking to put it to use? How about giving this Zune Tip Calculator a try. Most people are focusing on Zune games at this point, and have forgotten that apps can be made as well.

I tried to make use of the touch pad in a way that when you want the tip amount, you simply slide your thumb left or right to adjust the scale.

This is easy to use. Just use the Dpad to move the highlighted number around. Press the center of the Dpad to enter the numbers you need. Hit the back key to delete a number. When you’re done, hit the play/pause button and it will bring you to the tip scale.

15% is the default tip percent when not touching the touch pad. Sliding left or right will change your tip percentage. Holding the back button for a few seconds will close your app and restart your Zune.

Just a word of warning. If you know how to install Zune applications, go ahead and try this. Otherwise, you will need to download Visual Studio c# express 2008 and the XNA beta 3.0 framework. Zune apps aren’t really meant to be shared like other programs at this point, but for those who want to try it, go ahead.

The image below is what you see when you double click on the .ccgame file. It’s nothing more than an unpacker for the Zune application. All files need to be run will be installed automatically when you click unpack. Just make sure your Zune is connected and the Zune software isn’t running.

I have added the game to the zuneclan.com website games section. Maybe it is time that someone could develop a easier way to install / uninstall games on the zune.

I’m sure something will be out soon. Seeing how GS 3.0 is beta, at the end of the month there will probably be a nice update. One can only hope.

    Thanks
